Coffee Table Vignettes

One of the easiest ways to style and refresh your space is with a vignette.

‘Vignette’ sounds delightfully fancy and is fun to say (“vignette, darling”) – but it’s simply a group of objects arranged to create a beautifully styled setting.

In this case, we’re looking at the beloved coffee table. So it’s time to get rid of the remotes and UberEats and give your coffee table the spotlight it truly deserves.

  1. What do I use?

Start with objects you already own – a small house plant grouped with a vase or vessel. Once you work out your style you may have your eye on a stunning new coffee table book (like these ones) or a set of coasters.

Whatever you choose, be sure to experiment and rotate.

2.

How do I group the items?

We believe the best vignette looks effortlessly put together – like it all just fell into place. So, try to avoid a structured look and group yours items in odd numbers, such as three or five. Also, avoid straight lines by layering the items at different depths and heights, like this beauty we did at Project 251.

3. What about colours?

A vignette is so easy to change, so why not play with colours? You may want to complement the room’s existing colour palette, but you could also introduce a brand-new colour – go crazy!
