From Neglected to Luxury: A Stunning Apartment Revival

Some projects capture your attention immediately.

Others require a little imagination.

When we first stepped inside this apartment, it was clear that significant work was needed. The interiors felt tired and disconnected from what should have been the home’s greatest asset: the breathtaking ocean views visible from almost every room.

While many would have seen an apartment in need of a complete overhaul, we saw something different. We saw potential.

Looking Beyond What Was There

One of the most important skills in interior design is the ability to look beyond what currently exists and focus on what a space could become.

The apartment's existing finishes, layout and overall aesthetic no longer reflected contemporary living. However, the natural light, elevated position and uninterrupted coastal outlook provided the perfect foundation for a remarkable transformation.

From the beginning, our vision was clear.

Rather than competing with the view, the interior would complement it.

We wanted every design decision to create a sense of calm, warmth and connection to the surrounding landscape.

Developing the Design Vision

The design process began with extensive concept development, mood boards and material selections.

Our goal was to create a refined coastal aesthetic that felt sophisticated rather than themed. Soft textures, natural materials, warm timber tones and a carefully curated palette were selected to bring depth and character to the space while allowing the ocean views to remain the hero.

Every element was considered:

• Material selections

• Joinery design

• Lighting specification

• Furniture layouts

• Styling direction

• Colour palette development

By establishing a clear vision early in the process, we were able to ensure consistency throughout the project.

Bringing the Vision to Life

As construction progressed, the apartment slowly began to transform.

Walls, finishes and outdated details were stripped back, creating a blank canvas for the new design direction.

This stage often requires trust and patience. Before the final layers are installed, spaces can feel incomplete and far removed from the finished result.

However, these moments are an essential part of every successful renovation.

With each milestone, the vision became clearer.

New finishes were installed, custom details began taking shape and the apartment started to reflect the calm, elevated atmosphere we had imagined from the outset.

The Final Result

The completed apartment feels worlds apart from the space we first encountered.

Natural light now moves effortlessly throughout the home, while carefully curated furnishings bring warmth, texture and a sense of cohesion. Every room feels connected to the spectacular coastal outlook beyond.

The transformation is a reminder that great design is about more than aesthetics. It is about revealing a home’s full potential and creating spaces that feel as beautiful as they are to live in.
