This Merricks property is unlike any other – forget barnyard charm, say hello to chic farmhouse with a twist. Part-styled by Twostyle, this gorgeous property set amid the vineyards of the Mornington Peninsula was the perfect setting to enhance the existing colour palette of soft pastels and organic fabrications.
Since the home’s execution is grounded in a Scandic, tonal aesthetic, we went in with a minimalistic approach to enhance, not overshadow, the home’s contemporary fixtures, finishes and custom furniture. Contrasting statement Scandi furniture with abstract artwork, kitsch décor, and touches of pink, this home now oozes a luxe femininity.
Our favourite space would have to be the grand living room – the beating heart of the home. This spectacular open plan kitchen with red and grey marble splashbacks is complimented by an adjacent sitting area that is chic and postmodern – appealing to a clientele that isn’t afraid of trend-setting.
A leather couch inspired us to play with textured and organic fabrics with cushions, rugs, stools, and throws adding warmth to the room and a feeling of cosiness. Not to forget, the featured artwork enriches the space with opulence, drawing your eyes up towards the high ceilings.
It's all about layering soft furnishings in the bedrooms and kids' retreat. To make the neutral palette stand out we added focus features in the form of display books, vases, plush fabrics, lighting, furnishings and art throughout, all in shades that don’t dominate but rather compliment the multi-use space – the finished product? A room that is lived in yet artistically refined.
Touches of Scandinavian styling and accessories modernise these rooms to promote a clean, practical and relaxing ambience.
The exterior of the home introduces the appeal of living off the grid among the Australian red gums and native flora. The entrance called for a show stopping piece that would blend in with the vibrant landscape. Thanks to Studio Gallery Group, this striking bright-hued artwork enriches the white panelled walls. Looking out through the large windows, the art fuses Autumn colours with the red and green hues of the wine region to create the perfect talking piece for when guests arrive.
The backyard has been styled with modern outdoor furniture grounded in natural materials. Minimalist cushioned lounges overlook the infinity pool while timber tables and black wicker seating are positioned around the home’s various porches, keeping in line with the foundational red-stained timber pergola and black corrugated roof.
With its resort-style amenities: grand living room, yoga and spa retreat, infinity edge pool, golf simulator, bar and five star kitchen, this Merrick property radiates a grandeur that was in need of a complimentary, yet chic styling.
